About the lab
Make the procedure repeatable.
Nether Cloud Lab is an independent engineering workspace for documenting experiments, architecture studies and practical software engineering research.
Mission
Useful engineering notes make a system understandable. They explain the question being asked, the environment it assumes, the mechanism being examined, and the limits of the conclusion.
Nether focuses on the practical continuation: contained Linux labs, failure drills, resource budgets, buffering and recovery. Its procedures are written to be inspected before they are run.
How work is documented
Articles distinguish a design explanation from an experiment protocol and a measured result. Initial guides and project plans do not claim that a prototype is running or that a production system has met a performance target.
A measured note should include the relevant versions, starting conditions, command or test procedure, observations and cleanup. Changes to published material belong in its update date and the activity log.
Two connected publications
The foundational publication develops the system models used by these guides. Visit Fig Cloud Lab or follow a paired reading path.
